Pam Smith Speaks at V4A's Annual Conference

Pam Smith, the Council's Director of Family & Caregiver Support recently helped to lead a workshop at the V4A's annual conference in Killington. The workshop, with Millie Richard and Erica Marks from Age Well, and Tiffany Smith from the Department of Aging and Independent Living, discussed respite volunteer programs and "Social Connectedness for Persons with Alzheimer’s and Related Diseases." Pam addressed the educational and support opportunities available throughout the state including family education programs, Support Groups, and Powerful Tools for Caregivers. This information is used to inform family caregivers who feel they are isolated because of their caregiving responsibilities. Tiffany discussed Dementia Friendly Communities, and Millie and Erica discussed their respite volunteer program.
