The NEK Council on Aging is pleased to announce that Mackinnley Wright has been hired as Case Manager for the Western Caledonia County area. This position supports clients by evaluating long-term needs and providing person-centered and lifestyle options that inform, encourage, inspire, and support older and disabled adults to live independently and age well.

“Mackinnley’s personal journey of serving as a caregiver for his ailing grandfather provided him an understanding of the needs associated with caring for our aging population,” said Meg Burmeister, Executive Director. “He is interested in helping others to secure the resources and supportive environment necessary to live independently with dignity and respect. We are pleased to welcome Mackinnley to our team.”

Wright previously served as store manager for NEK Vapor leading a team that supervised general administration, inventory, and daily operations. He assisted Burke Mountain Resort with the resort’s snowmaking systems and snow making equipment and guest services. While attending college, he worked as a supervisor and fitness assistant at Taylor Gymnasium in Bethlehem, NY and a woodshop specialist counselor at Camp Pontiac in Copake, NY.

He received a B.A. in Philosophy, with a minor in Cognitive Science from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. He lives in East Burke where he enjoys reading and cooking with his fiancée Sara and their two cats, Pinto and Garbanzo.
