Coming Together After the Storm
Dear Friends,
The severe flooding due to heavy rainfall and the overflow of rivers and streams has caused significant damage to roads, bridges, homes, and businesses, leaving many people displaced and in need of assistance. We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to those that have been affected by this unprecedented natural disaster.
In times like this, it is essential to come together as a community and offer support.Staff at the NEK Council on Aging are ready to support and guide the elder and disabled members of the Northeast Kingdom to appropriate resources. You can reach us directly at (802) 748-5182 or (802) 334-2190 or toll free (800) 642-5119.
We are in constant communications with our meal site partners, volunteers, and community organizations. We realize the storm damage varies in intensity across the Northeast Kingdom and our goal with this message today is to provide easy access to critical resources depending on your situation.
The state of Vermont has various organizations and government agencies working tirelessly to provide aid and assistance to those in need. Use this link to access key resources from the state.
From all of us here at the Council, we wish to extend our continued support as we work together to rebuild and recover.
Warmest regards,
