Join Us: Shape the Future of Aging Services in the NEK
The Northeast Kingdom Council on Aging (NEKCOA) is excited to announce the opening of new positions on our Advisory Board. This is a unique opportunity for community members passionate about enhancing the quality of life for older adults in our region. We are seeking dedicated individuals to help guide and support our mission.
Why Join the Advisory Board?
As an Advisory Board member, you’ll have the chance to:
- Influence Policy and Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of programs and services that directly impact our senior community.
- Enhance Community Well-being: Work with a team committed to improving the quality of life for older adults through innovative solutions and advocacy.
- Collaborate with Experts: Engage with professionals and fellow board members to address key issues and shape future initiatives.
About the Older Americans Act (OAA)
The OAA plays a crucial role in supporting older adults across the United States by providing funding and resources for a range of services, including:
- Nutrition Programs: Meals on Wheels and congregate meal programs that ensure seniors have access to nutritious food.
- Transportation Services: Assistance with travel to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other essential activities.
- Caregiver Support: Resources and respite services for those who care for older adults.
The NEKCOA leverages the OAA to deliver vital services in our community, and your involvement on the Advisory Board will help us maximize these resources and respond to the evolving needs of our aging population.
