Pets4Life: Because No One Should Have to Choose Between Feeding Themselves or Their Pet
Started in 2010, the Pets4Life Program was created to support older adults in the Northeast Kingdom who share their homes—and their hearts—with beloved companion animals. For many seniors, pets offer more than just companionship. They are trusted friends, sources of comfort, and emotional lifelines, especially for those who live alone or face mobility challenges.
Pets4Life ensures that no one has to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pet. Through this volunteer-powered program, we provide consistent pet food support to elders in need—helping them keep their animals healthy and by their side.
A dedicated team of volunteers coordinates every step of the process: from sourcing and purchasing food, to repackaging it into manageable portions, to delivering it directly to clients' homes. We are deeply grateful to our generous donors and community partners who make this compassionate work possible year after year.
How Can You Help?
Donate — Monetary contributions help us purchase quality pet food in bulk.
Volunteer — Assist with shopping, repackaging, or organizing pet food for delivery.
Deliver — Join our team of volunteer drivers. Mileage is reimbursed, and the smiles are priceless.
If you love animals and care about supporting older Vermonters, the Pets4Life Program offers a truly meaningful way to give back.
